Biography and information

Painter and printmaker lithographs. Born in Riga. In 1840-ies he worked in Warsaw. Held under the auspices of the Society for the encouragement of artists, in 1840-1841. Paul printed drawn on stone by L. I. Kiel portraits of musicians, A. L., Geralt of office, and in 1844-1845 — Kraskina lithograph of a painting by A. A. Ivanov "the appearance of the Savior to Mary Magdalene". Then, he presented to the Imperial Academy of Arts "executed paintings of flowers and fruit, in oil and watercolor" by asking for "honoring him with the title of the artist or ask the program to receive this title". The Academy asked him to write a "group vegetables and fruit", for which he was awarded in 1848 the desired degree, having previously obtained the dismissal of Riga's Guild society, which formerly belonged to. This picture was then on the Academic exhibition in 1849, In 1850-ies of the K. P. was already the Director of lithographs of the Main Directorate of Railways, and in the sixties had their own lithographic establishment in St. Petersburg. In addition, he wrote ten paintings, to play their mosaics, in the Old Hermitage; also engaged in the restoration of paintings. {The Cumans}
