Biography and information

Born in Reval on 28 January 1780, died 2 Jun 1833, Son of Gulnara, who served at the Revel Port Customs, he in 1785 he was identified pupils of the Arts Academy in 1799 (18 July) received a second gold medal for the execution of the program: "to present a portrait of the painter"; in the same year, on 28 August, he was awarded a second silver medal for drawing from life, and on the 18th of August the following year he received a certificate and a sword, and it was decided to leave him with the other eleven companions, a pensioner of the Academy, for further improvement. While still a pupil, he is in 1799, along with one his friend, Nikolai Habarovym, wrote a portrait of Emperor Paul I, by order of the Provincial Board of Vyborg and Vyborg of the exchequer, which were then corrected by the academician of the St. Shchukin.
