Filippovich Repnin (Fomin)

The son of a don Cossack, was born in the city of Novocherkassk, died in Kharkiv in 1855 Entered the Academy of fine Arts in 1795, he graduated from a course with a diploma of the first degree in 1800, and received in the same year the silver medal of the second dignity, for drawing from life, and the same gold medal for historical painting, the execution of the program: "the Expulsion from the temple", and together with the other eleven companions, was left by the pensioner at the Academy for further improvements; the vignette, drawn by F. Being a graduate of the Academy of Arts, until he became close friends with his classmate A. X. Vostokov, later a famous scientist, and dedicated his poetry (1802 and 1804), and later was in correspondence; Vostokova he entered the St. Petersburg free society of lovers of literature, Sciences and arts and was a member of it. In 1815, when he was "drawing teacher in Ekaterinoslavl", he was asked to write to obtain the title of academician of historical painting, a picture on the theme "the Savior appeared, after the resurrection, Mary Magdalene in the form of vertogradari", but did he this program is unknown.
