Thesis in the CVC - "1905" rating - excellent. The training took place at the faculty of painting, awarded the title of artist of painting.

In 1929 he graduated from the Vitebsk art College, studied with Vladimir Volkov. In 1930 he entered the all-Russian Academy of arts (VAKH) in the workshop of A. A. Osmerkin. In 1937 he graduated from WAH with honors. Thesis Political conduct (1937). The painting was acquired by the State Russian Museum. Pavlovskiy, G. V., left for a teaching job in WAH, assisted A. A. Osmerkin in his workshop. In the same 1937 becomes a member of the Leningrad branch of Union of artists. In 1940, approved the rank of Professor of painting at the Academy. In 1943, awarded the degree of candidate of art criticism. Since 1950, after the removal of A. A. Osmerkin from the leadership workshop for formalism in art G. V. Pavlovsky was forced to switch to teaching in higher school of industrial art to them. V. I. Mukhina (Leningrad higher school of industrial art). Participated in exhibitions since 1929. Works are in state Russian Museum (State Russian Museum), the state Tretyakov gallery (the State Tretyakov gallery), other museums and private collections in the former USSR and abroad.
