Grigory
Nikolaevich Teplov

Russia • 1717−1779

State Secretary of Catherine II Grigory Nikolayevich Teplov, the son of a Palace Stoker (which at that time maybe was a good launching pad), potentially possessed many talents. In many ways he himself realized. No wonder he was such a responsible post and was an honorary member of the Petersburg Academy of arts, honorary member of the two Academies of Sciences — St. Petersburg and Madrid. However, coming from a commoner to riches, G. Teplov, judging from indirect data, knew his worth, and especially don't bother to work up a sweat in any of the supportive activities.
