Alekseevich Cherkasov

artist portrait painting, St. Petersburg bourgeois origin, was born in 1821. He soon discovered that his talent and he enrolled in drawing classes at the Imperial. Academy of fine Arts, but stayed there only two years. Financial insecurity forced him to leave the Academy and earn their livelihood by writing portraits to order. However, in 1839 he presented to the Academy a painting of "boy with cage" and in September of the same year received the title of class artist of portraiture. But to go further than that Cherkasov was prevented by the same need. He started painting flowers and involuntarily drew the drawing in their craft; in 1881 he was in the service of the factory of the Association of Danilovskaya Manufactory in Moscow. Cherkasov died in December 1885 (Cumans)
