Honored artist of the RSFSR (1974). Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. He graduated from the VGIK (1949). From 1949 — artist, art-Director of "Mosfilm". Participated in the formulation of K.-f. "Grand concert" (1951), "Boris Godunov" (1954), "summer vacation" (1960), "Young, green" (1962), "Wild honey" (1966), "No right to error" (1975), "shot in the back" (1980), "Action" (1987), etc.
