Petrovich Aji

A native of France. Came to Russia in 1781 sculptured the bust of Catherine II (P. A. Kochubei in St. Petersburg). Serving in the Academy of fine Arts, taught foundry and hammered craftsmanship; received the title of academician; performed posolochnye work in the Peterhof Palace in 1803. At the time, azhi was very well known as a chaser and bronzer. They performed, among other things, the frame on the bas-relief portrait of Metropolitan Gabriel in the Alexander Nevsky monastery, decorations for the "monument to soldiers of the" Arakcheyev Georgian Cathedral (1816 - 18), bronze and silver decorations for the Kazan Cathedral and others had in the Academic garden a special workshop. Was in the service of the state-owned bronze factory, abolished in 1812.
