The son of a Moscow merchant. In 1821 defined in the Academy of fine Arts. Received medals: in 1829 - 2 silver; in 1831 - 2 silver; in 1832 - the same; in 1833 - 2 gold for the program: "Cut on steel of Apollo, in desperation, ran to raise Hyacinth, struck by a round flat stone"; at the same time the title of the artist XIV class.
