Born in the Kurgan region.
1982. After service in the army entered the Magnitogorsk State pedagogical Institute, art-graphic faculty. During my studies a lot and works successfully: the first personal exhibition of student work in the Institute, participated in the "national exhibition of art teachers, students of art-graphic faculties", in Moscow.
1986. Vladimir Kolov is transferred to the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute at the faculty of "easel painting". Studied Kharlamov vladilena of Mitrofanovich, Sign Anatoly Markovich, Pokrovsky, Alexander Alexandrovich Petrov-Kamchatsky Vitaly Natanovich.
1991. defended thesis painting, "January evening" "excellent", supervisor of diploma – Pokrovskiy A. A. (now the rector of the Kiev state art Institute).
1992. returns in Kurgan oblast. Become a permanent participant of city, regional, regional exhibitions.
1997. joined the Union of Artists of Russia.
