Andreevich Ponikarov

Soviet and Ukrainian artist, a member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine (1971), honored artist of Ukraine (2005).Graphic artist, painter. Graduated from the Moscow polygraphic Institute (1970), where he studied with Yu Barcelona, B. Sholokhov, Poroshenko. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR (1971). Lived and worked in Odessa.

Vasily Ponikarov was born August 26, 1929 in the Odessa region.
He died on may 16, 2014

Exhibition activity has led since 1965. Solo exhibitions were held in Odessa (1984, 1986, 1990, 2001, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2016), in the city of Kiev (1987, 2003, 2007), in the city of Oberursel, Germany (2004), Oslo, Norway (2005). The artist's works were presented at exhibitions in Hungary (1969,1977, 1980), Bulgaria (1970), Italy (1974, 1976, 1981, 1990), France (1974, 1998, 1999, 2001), Switzerland (1985), Finland (1987), Russia (1991, 1992), Israel (1993), Mexico (1996), USA (1977, 1992), Belgium (2005), Georgia (2015)

Works by W. A. Ponikarov are kept in art museums of Odessa, and Kharkiv, the Museum-archives of literature and art in Kiev, the Ochakov Museum of marine art, Izmail Museum. A. V. Suvorov, Prilutsky Museum, Zhdanov kraevedcheskom Museum sharhorods'kyi national Museum in various public institutions and private collections around the world
