In contrast to the style of his teacher, Martino Spanzotti, who had a great influence on the development of his work, the manner of Ferrari's inherent commitment to the Gothic tradition, which in the end led him to mannerism. His small painting "Adoration of the Christ child" (1510, Turin, Mountains. Museum) reveals the artist's desire to simple stories, pathos and grafizm close of woodcuts. Such works as "the Adoration of the infant Christ with the saints" (1511) from the TS. San Giovanni in Avigliana, remarkable altarpieces of the Cathedral of Ivrea ("Adoration of the Christ child, with St. Clara", 1519; "Adoration of the Christ child, with Saint and Prelate", 1521) demonstrate the evolution of the Ferrari, which reached its climax in 1535 in the triptych from C. San Giovanni in Avigliana ("Madonna with child and saints"). Here was finally developed his style and iconography. He uses lighting effects in his palette is dominated by red tones, but the landscapes are reminiscent of the landscapes of Northern artists ("St. Jerome", 1520, Turin, Mountains.
