Before the revolution he lived in Paris, published jointly. with Ilya Ehrenburg, by P. Chekanova (painter), O. Leshchinsky (poet) Zh. "Helios" (1913-14). In 1917 he returned to Russia, lived and worked in Moscow, 1928 in Leningrad. In 1932-34 approached the group of students Malevich (especially V. N. Ermolaeva). Studied painting and book. graphics. Arrested (1934, on the same day Ermolaeva), and later executed.
Native village Bronivka proskurovskogo. He served his sentence in Karlag, then in Dmitlage, where he worked as a quantity surveyor prodbase at 1-m Dmitrov station. He was arrested again on 25 January 1938 the NKVD Troika of the Moscow region on 2 February 1938 sentenced for "counterrevolutionary propaganda among the prisoners" to capital punishment.
