Ivanovich Oveshkov

Born in Tobolsk. Artist of decorative and applied art, the master toy painter, graphic artist, scene-designer, teacher. The first professional skills received in the 1st Siberian handicraft carving Studio of I. E. Ouskova in Tobolsk (1884-1896). He studied at the Central school of art drawing of Baron Stieglitz in St. Petersburg (1896-1903) by I. N. Canova. From 1906 to 1909 - in Tobolsk. Worked as a scene painter, scene-shifter and actor at Tobolsk the popular theatre audience (1906-1909). Participated in the organization of the Museum of toys in Moscow (1918). From 1920 to 1923 is in Tyumen. From 1923 - in Moscow. He taught at the Moscow College of handicraft industry in SEC (1923-1931). From 1932 he lived and worked in Zagorsk. The member of Russian Union of artists since 1919. Member of mtkh from 1933. Lived and worked in Sergiev Posad, died in Uch-Aral, Uch-Aral district of Zhambyl region (Kazakhstan).
