Biography and information
Born on March 5, 1900. Stone carver, sculptor. She graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art School. She worked as a stone carver at the Sverdlovsk Lapidary factory. Since 1945, Margarita Vasilievna Zaskalko was a sculptor in the Workshop of the City Council (Sverdlovsk, now Yekaterinburg). She is one of the authors of the bas-reliefs of famous countrymen, the Urals people on the facade of the City Council. She sculpted lions (second half of 1940s) at the Opera and Ballet Theater. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The participant of regional, republican and all-Union exhibitions, including the Republican exhibition of works of artists of the RSFSR in Moscow on November 5, 1951 (the illustrative catalog was published). The very expressive, inspired sculpture "Yaroslavna" (tree) of the work of M.V. Zaskalko rightly evoked in its time a warm response from a wide audience. She lived near the House Malakhov (st. Lunacharsky, 173 a). Probably lived for a long time until 1988. In the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (Moscow) there are also archival materials on M.V.
