Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Illustrator of children's books, schedule, honored artist of the Chuvash Republic.

Born 27 Dec 1898 in Leningrad, worked for many years in the Chuvash book publishing house.

With the first independent steps M. Michaelis appeals to the child topics and maintains her loyalty throughout a creative way, illustrating books mostly for children and youth. She loved to repeat : "it is Necessary, as he wrote to Rolland, "live as if you had one day and another 100 years". Following this commandment, she worked hard, constantly searching and improving their skills.

Major works: illustrations to the books “Our song” N. Selebi, “About the rabbit” by S. Mikhalkov, “Solnyshkin house” N. Cherepanova, “Children” V. Chaplina, “Sarmenta” I. Yakovlev, “Sulpice”, “Owner of land” by P. Huzangaya; a series of graphic sheets, etc.
