Scratchboard, also known as scraperboard is a drawing technique similar to scratchboard. The basis for a Scratchboard is a special cardboard, covered with a thin layer of white clay or chalk. On top of this cardboard is filled partially or completely with ink. With a sharp tool (needle, pen, sharpened sticks, etc.) prepared on the basis of protsarapyvajut line drawing. A layer of clay or chalk makes it easy to remove ink from the surface of the cardboard without damaging it.
Actually the word "scratchboard" means in English "scratching" as well as "scratchboard" in French.
