In 1960 graduated from the faculty of decorative arts higher school of industrial art to them. V. I. Mukhina. Trained in the Higher art industrial school in Czechoslovakia at the Josef Soukup, received the I degree diploma at all-Union exhibition of diploma works of students. It drew the attention of E. V. Yanovskaya and invited to work on LSHS. In the 1960s it created in the glass of the subject compositions, worked not only colorless, but also colored glass (selenuim, smoky, ruby, cobalt and other shades). Executed decorative compositions, vases for flowers and fruits, cups, glasses, goblets, sets of glasses, toilet sets, sweets bowls, ashtrays, sets for water, wine and vodka, dishes for fruit. For creativity is characterized by the use of techniques of free blowing, wide edge, frosted engraving, grinding, sandblasting, diamond patterns, Guten machinery, corrugation, application of the press with finishing, decoration products colored inclusions, thread. In 1967 A. M. Ostroumov was attracted as an artist to create the layout of the official catalogue of products LSHS "Leningrad artistic glass." Participant of exhibitions including "Art in life" (1961), "Soviet Russia" (1967), "Art glass factories of the Russian Federation" (1970), the exhibition of glass artists of the RSFSR in Vilnius (1973), "Soviet Russia-V" (1975), "the Art glass factories of the RSFSR" (GIM, 1977). In 1962 the artist was awarded the bronze medal of the USSR for the creatures of samples of products of mass production. Since 1960 was in the USSR Union. Honored artist of the RSFSR.
