Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.
A native of the village Stevo Tambov region. Member of the Union of artists. Graduated from the Penza art school and in 1954 arrived in Voronezh. The predominant genre in the works of art was landscape, rich colorful tones, tinged with lyricism.
Zinovy Popov – enlightened lyricist. In his work as written would be boring Soviet art, "reflected the aesthetics of the Khrushchev thaw", a time of hope. Apparently, one of the most characteristic Popova paintings, "the Village of sugar factory", with its straight lines and factory chimneys of the houses and are not yet covering their tops located on the foreground trees. Nature and the fruits of industrial civilization are not at war, but peacefully coexist on the canvas. If there are the picture people, and they dissolved in the landscape, which can hardly be called ordinary.
Something the artist took from naive painters, something probably from the French Impressionists, but left the author with his unique face.
For Popov, Zinovy was characterized by a very serious approach to art. It probably reduced his life... His creative manner is not always satisfied with the exhibition, - says the Chairman of the Voronezh branch of the Union of artists of Russia Alexei Smirnov.
Now even can't imagine what could make officials of art in these light-filled paintings.
However, it is not important. The paintings remained, and those who interfere with the artists, and now no one remembers.
