Pronenko Sergey Dmitrievich was born in the city of Kostroma on 19 January 1909. Seventeen year old boys were sent to Moscow to study at the technical school of arts. He then entered the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture. Not having to take final exams in June 1941, goes to the front. Fought in the Baltic fleet. Participated in the defense of Leningrad, was awarded orders and medals. He was captured, where he buried all his reward. Fled from captivity, returned to the front. Came to Berlin. In the autumn of 1946 returned to Kostroma, where he continued to live and work. The personal life of the sculptor was not very successful. Had four children: Anna, Vera, Nadia, and son Alex. The son later became an artist. I worked a lot on the Characters Karavaevskaya labor of the farm. In the village Karavaevo, the campus is his work - a bust of the scientist zootechnician Shteiman si. For many years he worked on the image of Gorky, which resulted in works such as Alyosha Peshkov in Nizhny Novgorod, a monument, half-length portrait of A. M. Gorky - tribune, the bust of Gorky. The same was noted by prizes and awards, his work is the monument to A. N. Ostrovsky in Shchelykovo. Worked monument - a bust to the Hero of the great Patriotic war Yury Smirnov. Monument ustonovleny in the city of Omsk, the birthplace of the Hero. This is only a small part of the work of the sculptor S. D. Pronenko.
Personal exhibition of the sculptor was deployed in 1956.
Died Sergey Pronenko 15 December 1981 at 72 years old.
