A talented artist, a charming woman, a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, unforgettable, Gulnaz Salamova is an Azerbaijani artist, who belonged to the first generation of graduates of the Azerbaijan State Art College.

Gulnaz Aliyeva was born in Baku on 22 Feb 1920. Her father Mamed Ali Salamov - were originally from the ancient Ordubad (rayon in the composition of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic). Being a simple employee, Mammad Ali until the end of his life, admired the art and literature. A fan and lover of great poets, writers and thinkers, he recited Fuzuli, Nizami, Nasimi, Ferdowsi, he enthusiastically sang famous arias from operas of Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the Azerbaijani romances and folk songs. After graduating from the Madrasah, reciting the Quran, Mammad Ali idolized Russian poetry, especially Pushkin and Mikhail Lermontov. In this atmosphere of love to theater, music, painting, literature and future artist was born. A passion for needlework, sewing, knitting and embroidery, gave the daughter the mother, Shirin.

Began studying at age 8, Gulnaz graduated in an art College in 1937, at the same time attending lessons in the preparatory course at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory in vocal (soprano). Choosing from two beautiful forms of art one, Gulnaz Aliyeva has devoted his life only to her painting.

Her classmates at art College was Mikayil Abdullayev, Mursal Najafov, Gullu Mustafayeva, Aga Mehdiyev, Kamil Khanlarov, Boyukaga Mirzazade. And teacher - the great Azerbaijani artist Azim Azimzade.

After graduating from College, Gulnaz went to work in Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum John. Remembering a scientist of the prototyping Fund. In February 1942, Gulnaz Aliyeva began working as a instructor FROM the Department in the "House of folk art" and in parallel were preparing for the exhibition of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, a member of which she began in the same year. Working in these years, the cinema at the Baku film Studio, Gulnaz Aliyeva took part in shooting the film "One family" filmed in 1943 during the evacuation of Baku with the participation of Lyubov Orlova and Grigory Alexandrov. During these difficult years in Moscow were organized exhibitions of Soviet artists. 28 April 1943 in the State Tretyakov gallery opened the exhibition "Works by Azerbaijani artists in the days of the great Patriotic war", which Gulnaz Aliyeva took part with the painting "letter from the front". During these years she wrote three songs : "Musculus", "Partisan", "In a military hospital".

Gulnaz Aliyeva was awarded the medal "For valiant labor in the great Patriotic war".

A few years later, in 1946, Gulnaz Aliyeva, first, as a theater artist, has prepared a bright and bold for fancy sets and costumes for the play of the Baku theatre of Young Spectator.
