Biography and information

Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

He studied in the Studio of L. Swamp. In 1944 drafted into the army in Berlin was captured in Russian, was exiled to Vorkuta.

In 1946 he returned to Riga.

In 1951 he graduated from the workshop of Figurative painting Eliass at the Latvian State Academy of arts with the thesis "Before the hike".

V. Svirsky worked in the Studio of decorators Theatrical society of the Lithuanian SSR.

His personal exhibitions are organized in Daugavpils (1959, 1970), Jekabpils (1959, 1985), Riga (1962, 1967, 1969, 1972, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981, 1989), Engure (1978), Limbazi (1979), Preili (1980), Aglona (1980), Lebanon (1980, 1988), krāslava (1980), sauries (1981), Roll (1982), alūksne (1982), the Tauren (1983), Bauska (1984), Valmiera (1986), Stucke (1986, 1988), Dobele (1987), Smiltene (1989).

Commemorative exhibition – in Riga (1999).

The artist's works are also exhibited in Prague (1974), Bonn, münster (Obi, 1990), Cracow (1995).
