Timofeev Igor A. was born in 1905 in the city of Batumi ,Kutaisi province in the family of German Baron Oscar von Treufeld. The boy's name was Arnold.
His mother, Elena, from the number of German immigrants in a distant time. In 1910, she remarried for Timofeev Alexei Gordeyev, who adopted Arnold, gave him his middle name, surname and the name Igor.
Timofeev Igor A. often goes by the name of Zero, with a childhood interest in drawing.
After graduating from a private school, worked in 1923-1924, the artist-designer.
He studied at the Tiflis Academy of Arts, pupil of E. E. Lansere. Was friends with E. E. Lanceray and after moving to Moscow in 1933, carried out joint work for the all-Russian Theatrical Society.

With 03.06.1955 years a member of the Moscow organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR in the graphics section. Recommendation of the artist V. A. Milashevsky from 05.11.1952.
Since 1957, he collaborated with the Children's Literature Publishing house "Detgiz".
During the work, participated in all-Union and International exhibitions, awarded with diplomas and certificates.
