Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Honored artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the State prize of the Tatar ASSR them. Tukai.

Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, calligrapher,a founder of Tatar fine arts. Landscape painter,author of landscapes and genre compositions.

Studied at the Kazan state art workshops (1919-1920), in VKhUTEMAS/VHUTEINe in Moscow at Gerasimov. Throughout his life he remained a supporter of the Moscow.-Noah tradition. Lived and worked in Moscow, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kazan. Solo exhibition of B. I. Urmanche was held in 1982

People's artist of the RSFSR and TASSR. Winner of the prize. G. Tukay. Works Urmanche are in the State Museum of Oriental art, State Museum of fine arts of the Republic Tatarstan (Kazan), the State Museum of Uzbekistan (Tashkent), the memorial Museum named after M. Gafuri (Ufa), in private collections in the USA and Finland.

In 1998 in Kazan was opened the memorial Museum of B. I. Urmanche.
