Tuganbaevich Utepov

Russia • born in 1946

A member of the Union of artists of the USSR, people's artist of Kazakhstan. Born in the village of Jinbei Tyulkubas district of South Kazakhstan region. In 1966-1971 he, as a student of the Almaty art College into the Lvov state Institute of decorative art and finishes it off with honors. In 1974 became a member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Passed away in 1992. Well-known artist, author of more than 300 works, the master of tapestry, he is considered one of the founders of the national direction of this applied art of Kazakhstan. Creative search, deep understanding, and respect for centuries-old traditions, rituals, customs of his people, love for cultural heritage helped him to open the tapestry. His work is distinguished by deep philosophy, national color, combination of colors, special colors. He left behind 60 sketches. His works such as "Epic warriors", "the Lark, "That", was highly appreciated at International exhibitions, awarded with diplomas. These works are now in the residence of the President of Kazakhstan in Almaty. Widely known and work "Family", "July heat," "Patterns of life", "Fatherland", "Native Prairie", "Other", "Rostock", "Birzhan-Sara", "ancestral Spirit", "Nauryz", etc.. Many of them made in the form of tapestry, rug, felt, carpet, batik. The author uses wool yarn, using all the colors of the rainbow.In Shymkent in 2006, a boarding school for gifted children named Batyrbek utepova. Here the children are taught music, painting, art and crafts, including the art of tapestry. Also one of the streets of Shymkent is the name of Batyrbek utepova.
