Dropcloth (Jost Cornelis Drooch-Sloot, 1586-1666) - Dutch painter, entered the Guild of St. Luke in 1616 Wrote everyday pictures, especially the village festivals, dances, landscapes, animated with numerous figures, and historical paintings are in the spirit of Teniers the Elder, but inferior to the latter in the strength and transparency of color and the mastery of the brush. The main works: "the Herd" (in the Louvre), "Bethesda", "Duel", "Kermess", etc. In the Imperial Hermitage Museum there are two paintings: "View of Dutch. city in winter" and "Village festival".
