Ivanovich Shumakov

Russia • born in 1954

The chief architect of the Institute Metrogiprotrans, who spent his entire conscious working life, designing metro facilities.

 

In Moscow, these are the Krasnogvardeyskaya, Konkovo, Teplyi Stan, Yasenevo, Bittsevsky Park, Savyolovskaya, Krylatskoye, Krestyanskaya Zastava, Sretensky Boulevard, "Sparrow Hills", "Butovskaya" and "Solntsevskaya" and others. In addition, he is the author of the Moscow monorail transport system and the first line of the Omsk metro.

 

Now Nikolai Ivanovich is designing multifunctional complexes of Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo airports, a shopping complex near Lubyanskaya Square, an automobile arch-cable-stayed bridge over the Moscow River with a restaurant, a combined bridge across the Dnieper River in Kiev.

 

And in his free time, he draws wonderful, "sunny" pictures. These are mainly portraits and still lifes. Many of Shumakov’s paintings are in private and public collections in Russia and other countries of the world.
