Biography and information

Born in 1897 in the province of Orel. In 1904 the family moved to Batumi. Here he studied in the studios of artists Dmitry Pakhomov and Valerian Ilyukhin.

From 1936 to 1941 he worked with the artist, academician of painting by Evgeny Evgeniyevich Lancer, took part in the creation of his monumental paintings. Lancer, drawing attention to his bright, bold painting, offered to help him in painting the ceiling of the hotel "Moscow" Kazan station, etc.

Their work Seleznev did not like to sign, believing that it is permissible only to the great.

He painted portraits, landscapes. Participated in many exhibitions. Was published album of photographs of his 27 paintings at different times. He died in 1968.
