The son of architect Nicholas Evgenievich Lanceray. He graduated from the architectural faculty of the Academy of arts in Leningrad with a degree of architect (1941). Worked in the institutions of lenproekt, "Hydroproject"; participated in the construction of 20 small HPPs, many villages and buildings.
Sons, architects Nikolai Lanceray (b. 1958) and Alexei Lancer (b. 1964).
