Architectural historian, doctor of architecture (1965). He graduated from the Repin Institute of arts in (1950) and taught there. Worked in the design organizations of Leningrad. In 1966-74 Director of the research Institute of theory and history of architecture in Moscow. Taught in ISKCON. universities. Tr. on the history and theory of architecture and urban planning, including kN. "A thousand years of Russian architecture (1990).
