Honored artist of the RSFSR.

Konstantin was a member of the great Patriotic war.
He went through the war and was awarded two "Awards of Glory".

1945-1950 -studied at the architectural Department of the Russian Academy of Arts.

In 1955, Konstantin Mitrofanov,the artist-architect by training,was invited to the Department of glass and ceramics of the Leningrad higher art-industrial school im. V. I. Mukhina.
Read theoretical courses "Basics of architectural composition",
"General principles of composition", taught industrial arhitekturnomu artistic glassmaking, design, led diplomasisi. A scholar with great experience,he was an excellent teacher.
In 1967 he published his book "Modern monumental-decorative
ceramics".
Konstantin headed the Department of industrial art from 1982 to 1991.
Konstantin Mikhailovich has done a lot for Leningrad as an architect.
The author of the design of the entrance to the metro station Moskovskie Vorota St. Petersburg metro (1961).
Also created a number of monuments.

During his pedagogical activity he educated a large group of artists,many of them are Honored and people's artists.
