The most beautiful paintings are *constructed* usually from the simplest and most ordinary things. But only the Master can breathe life into these simple things. The master is not in the picture, but how much the artist *told* us about him! Magnificent work!
Such wonderful work, too. So you look at it and imagine clearly the past day of a tired dog - its joys, its sorrows, its dreams. Looking at such paintings, you begin to realize that anyone can be taught to paint, but no one can be taught to TRANSLATE the history of a person, an animal or an object on the canvas. It's either there or it's not.
