Skreta Sosnowski from Savories (Škréta Šotnovský ze Závořic) Karel (1610, Prague — buried 1.8.1674), Czech painter, one of the leading representatives of the Czech Baroque. As a family member participating in the reformation, was forced to leave Bohemia in 1628 in Freyburg (Saxony); he studied painting in Italy; in 1638 he returned to Prague. Wrote for virtuoso painting technique religious and mythological works. (often incorporating genre motifs), ostrovyrazitelnye portraits, executed drawings and illustrations.
