Father is the owner of printers who founded the publishing house "A. Grose".

He studied at Copenhagen and at Dresden Academy of Arts (1909. – 1912.), which he graduated with honors. 1912. year continued his studies at the Vienna Academy of fine Arts.

In 1919. the Bolsheviks killed his father M. G. Grocery and it 1920. year returned to Latvia to deal with the management of the companies. Participated in the exhibitions of secession Vienna and Riga. Mostly turned to the painting of landscapes and still lifes, most worked with watercolor, miniature painting, drawing shapes and other graphics on demand publishing.
