(born 1955 in the far East of the sea of Japan)
Michael Ramus in 1981. year graduated from the liepāja secondary school of applied arts, in 1996. year, studied applied art and architecture in India.
He traveled extensively in India, interested in literature, history (1996 – 2001).
In his art there is a lot of ornamentation, which is talking about the General Indian and Latvian cultures. In the nineties he and his wife lived in India, not far from the places where once lived the Roerichs. There they approached the ideas of Krishna. The artist's works in a lot of graphic elements, symbols, characters which together carry a strong energy. The artist manages to show the fragile thread that reflects the spiritual movement on the canvas.
In exhibitions the artist has participated since 1979. His work has been exhibited in exhibitions in Liepaja, Riga, Talsi, Tukums, Saldus (Latvia), the UK, Switzerland, Chicago (USA), Germany, Stockholm (Sweden), France, Denmark, and Estonia.
