Biography and information

Schedule, Merit artist of the RSFSR (1956). He studied in the Kuban thin. technical school (1927-29). Since 1929 he lived and worked in Moscow. Since 1941, an artist of the Military Publishing House, since 1943 - the Studio of Military Artists named after Grekov. Posters (“May 1st. We are comrades!”, 1933; “Death to the fascist reptile!”, 1941; “For the Motherland!”, 1942; “Glory to work!”, 1957), as well as thematic paintings, landscapes Prince ill. Laureate of Art. etc. (1946, 1949).

1906. Born in the city of Sarakamysh, Transcaucasia. Father was a land surveyor from peasants. He studied at the gymnasium in the city of Krasnodar, then in Poltava.

1918. He studied at the Krasnodar School of Painting and Sculpture.

1929 Graduated from the Kuban Art and Pedagogical College in Krasnodar; drew movie posters. He worked as an assistant decorator in the Krasnodar Theater.

1929. Moving to Moscow. Works in vitrography as a designer.

1930. The first political poster.

The beginning of systematic work in Izogiz.

1933-1934. He was engaged in book and magazine illustration and easel painting.

1934. Second prize at the poster contest "10 years without Lenin", organized by IZOGIZ, for the poster "With the banner of Lenin, under the military leadership of Stalin."

1936. Personal exhibition of works by A.A. Kokorekina.

1941. The first military poster of Kokorekin: "Death by a fascist reptile!".

During the war he did not leave Moscow, except for trips to the front.

1946. Stalin Prize for posters of the war years (1941-1945). Over the years, the Second World War has made at least 35 posters.

1949. Second Stalin Prize "for outstanding post-war posters." .

1956. Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

1959. Died in Moscow.
