In 1928-37 ch. artist and director Mosk. t-ra Revolution, in 1938-39 director Leningr. Small t-ra Opera and Ballet, in 1940-44 thin. hands Mosk. t-ra them. Lensoveta, since 1944 hl. director of the Kirov Theater. Laureate Art. Ave. (1946, 1951).
