Biography and information

Nicholas D. Korytskyy (1854 – 1915) — a famous Russian architect. Nicholas was the son of architect D. A. Koritsky, and came from a noble family. This is one of the few architects of the province in Vladimir graduated from St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts. From 1882 to 1910 was the diocesan architect. Among the objects of the master – civilian buildings, churches with bell towers, technical design. In 1876 and in 1879 became the owner of two medals, and in 1885 received the title of class artist third degree.

Perhaps during his studies he participated in the design of either was familiar with the drawings and watched the construction itself. Later they were created in a reduced and adapted for the city of kovrova.

In 1874 Koritskii graduated from College, receiving the profession of architect, and continued his education at the St. Petersburg Academy of arts. In may, 1876 was awarded the medal for its programme of architecture "Mausoleum", and in 1879 for "playpen Tatersall and riding school". Graduation in 1880, he received the title of class artist third degree. Besides, awarded the Academy medal for high knowledge in the field of architecture, and in the autumn of the same year it ranked as an engineer to the Ministry of the Interior. After 2 years Koritskii became diocesan architect and has served in this position for almost 18 years. During this period he created projects of construction and reconstruction of many Church buildings of the Vladimir province.

To 100-anniversary of the city of kovrova, the birthday of the city in 1903, built a complex of buildings – these projects signed N. Koritskii. He worked on the roof of the Bogolyubovo Cathedral, which was damaged in the fire of 1893
Family Korickij many years, she lived in Vladimir, and since 1910 – in Moscow, Nikolay Dmitrievich worked in a Bank. In 1915 he mysteriously died, killed by a train.
