Born in 1926 in Sverdlovsk.
Participated in the battles of WWII: Leningrad front gun room, 2nd far Eastern front — YCL division anti-aircraft artillery regiment. After the war he served at the headquarters Uralo and participated in the execution of special operational maps (1946-1950) After demobilization he graduated from the Sverdlovsk pedagogical Institute. In 1958, as a scientific Secretary of the UPC and lecturer of aesthetics, organized the research and design team for technical aesthetics (design). In October 1961. acted as scientific adviser the First all-Union conference on technical aesthetics and the aesthetics of the work, its materials served as the basis for the development of technical aesthetics in the country. In 1975 he developed a General solution in the exhibition "Design in the USSR" for the Moscow international Congress of Legal. At the 9th Congress of Legal in Moscow made a presentation "Design and work", to uncover the specifics of the Russian design (scheme). Led the industrial arts section of the Union of artists of the RSFSR.
Member of USSR Union of artists since 1965.
Problems of development of domestic design devoted three volumes of "the Dialectic of design" ("Mifdi-Zayn", "Artdesign", "Cyber design"). In the publication it is told about ways of development and formation of the Ural school of design, and its leaders — members of the Union of artists V. Chursin, V. Stepanov, T. Volovich, K. Grünberg and others. The origins of art and creativity of many artists intertwined in the destiny of the Ural design.
