Jakob Isaacs van Ruisdael (Jacob van Ruisdael, Jacob Isaakszoon van Ruysdael) (1628/1629, Haarlem is buried on March 14, 1682) was the most significant Dutch landscape painter.

It is assumed that the first painting lessons Jacob van Ruisdael received from his uncle, the artist Salomon van Ruisdael. It is known that Winter has mastered the profession of a surgeon and practiced in Amsterdam. Jacob Ruisdael entered into Haarlem the Guild of painters in 1648, with 1659 became a citizen of Amsterdam. Unfortunately, the artist's talent was not adequately appreciated during his lifetime.

Died Ruisdael in March 1682 apparently, death overtook him in Amsterdam, but then his remains moved to Haarlem and 14 March 1682 buried in the Church of St. Bavo.
