Alberto Burri (Alberto Burri, rod. On 12 March 1915, città di Castello, Italy, the mind. On 13 February 1995, nice) was an Italian painter.

Alberto Burri received his medical education at the University of Perugia, was a military doctor during the Second world war. After being taken prisoner while serving in the Italian army in North Africa, was in Hereford, Texas. As a prisoner of war in 1944, he began to study painting. After the liberation in 1945, Burri moved to Rome, his first solo exhibition was held at Galleria La Margherita in 1947. In addition to painting, Burri studied stage design at La Scala and other theatres. The artist was awarded the Italian order of merit in 1994.
