Biography and information

Isaac van Ostade (niderl. Isaac van Ostade, 1621, Haarlem — October 1649) was a Dutch painter.

Isaac van Ostade, brother and pupil of Adriaen van Ostade, began to work independently since the late 30s. Despite his short life, he wrote about a hundred pictures, which are very close to the subjects of the paintings of his brother, in consequence of which they are often confused. Most of the works of Isaac van Ostade is in private English collections. A painting by I. van Ostade are kept in museums of Berlin, in the Louvre and in Munich the Alte Pinakothek.
