K. P. Beggrov was engaged in lithography, watercolor and painting.

In 1818-21 he studied in the landscape class of the St. Petersburg Academy of arts at M. N. Vorobyov (1818-1821). He worked in the lithographic workshop of his older brother I. P. Beggrow, where he acquired the skills of drawing on stone. Moreover, 1825, served as a lithographer under the Department of Railways and public institutions. In 1828 he was invited for the execution of paintings in the Winter Palace. In 1831, K. P. Beggrov got away OH the title was appointed and in 1832 academician of perspective painting for the painting "the Mikhailovsky Palace". Executed portraits of emperors Alexander I, Nicholas I, academician A. X. Vostokov.

A versatile talent K. Beggrow allowed him to successfully Express themselves not only in different genres of art (portrait, interior, household sketches, cityscapes, battle song), but in the different techniques. Successfully engaged in painting, he ceased not at the same time to write with watercolors, and about 1818 turned to lithography. The artist was fascinated by this new Russian technology, and during the 1820s he established himself as an outstanding lithographer.

In 1820-30-ies. the most common genre in the lithography has become a portrait. K. Jensen performed a series of interesting images of his contemporaries - F. N. Glinka, A. X. Vostokov, I. A. Dmitrievskogo etc. As a rule, translating into stone the works of other artists, Jensen often allow themselves to "correct" the original - almost imperceptibly changing the angle of the head, accentuating the characteristic features of the model. All this reported image vividness, enhanced the resemblance. However, the greatest fame brought Beggrova lithographed views of St. Petersburg, made by him for publication "views of St. Petersburg and its environs", made in 1821 - 26. OPH. This series is one of the most remarkable phenomena of the early Russian lithographs. It was printed in different lithographic workshops in the form of exercise books on four sheets (1821-23), as separate sheets (1822-26). In its creation, except K. Beggrow, attended S. F. Galaktionov And P. Bryullov, A. A. Tone, C. P. Sipler, K. F. Sabat, A. Toselli. "General supervision" over the publication was carried out by F. F. Schubert. The originals for translation into stone was prepared under the leadership of F. P. Tolstoy. In most cases each sheet is the result of work of two authors: one executed original form from nature, the other bore his on the lithographic stone. K. Beggrov was altogetherbut 28 sheets 46 constituting the edition. This image of ceremonial areas of St. Petersburg - Nevsky Prospekt, Palace embankment, Vasil-evskogo Islands and remote parts of the Fontanka, Moika, Kryukov canal. All lithographs executed with great skill, understanding architectural landscape and love for their city. One of the best sheets of the entire series, which brought the artist great success is a picture of the arch of the General headquarters (1822), made after drawing by K. I. Rossi. For most of the lithography K. Beggrow drawings were created SABATON K. F. and S. P. Siple-ROM, and painted architecture, the second - steffanie figures of passers-by, very ogulagha image. Black-and-white lithography and then painted with watercolors. Especially appreciated the copies with the author's coloring of the K. Beggrow.

Except for participation in issue of this famous series, the artist worked for "Album of lithographs of 1820" (St. Petersburg, 1820), altogetherbut album "the Peoples living between the Caspian and Black seas" (St. Petersburg, 1822), as well as two albums and several sheets devoted to military history. All of these books one way or another connected with the activities of the society, very many has made for development of lithography in Russia.

In the 1830s, the activity of K. Beggrow as a lithographer markedly reduced. By that time, the only issued a series of lithographs "Traders-hawkers" (St. Petersburg, 1834). Now the artist is mainly engaged in drawing and watercolor. To the most significant works of the late period belongs to the famous album of watercolors "Types of Finland" (1857), and numerous views of St. Petersburg.
