Mikhail
Vasilyevich Kopyev

Born may 13, 1947 in Ufa. Studied at Ufa State Institute of arts (1973 - 1978). Member of the Union of artists of Russia since 1980, the honoured artist of Russia since 2000.

Participant of art exhibitions since 1978. The artist's works are exhibited at the all-Russian, interregional, regional, international exhibitions. Solo exhibition of paintings and drawings was held in Moscow (1994, 1998), St. Petersburg (1997), Ufa (1993), Vologda (1992, 1997), Cherepovets (1998), Luxembourg (1999).

Lives and works in Vologda since 1986. His works are in the Bashkir state art Museum im.M.In. Nesterov, Vologda regional picture gallery, Cherepovets Museum Association, in private collections in Russia and abroad.

The artist works in oil painting in the genres of narrative, historical, genre paintings, landscape, portrait; deals with graphics in the technique of drawing, pastels, watercolors in the field of animal, historical, genre and satirical graphics; works in the field of theatrical-decorative art. Major works: "Portrait of J. K. in the alleged circumstances" (1990), "the prodigal son returns" (1992), "Students echo" (1990), "Portrait of Velimir Khlebnikov" (1989), "Requiem" (1991), "Moses" (1993), "That's all" (1991), "the umbrella Salesman, or the highest place in the city"/1996/.
