Yanovich Fedder

The artist, academician. Born in the city of Koknese (Latvia). In 1856-1862 he studied at the Academy of arts in St. Petersburg. In these years has been his connection with I. I. Shishkin. In 1860 G. F. awarded a small silver medal for the Valaam studies, in 1862, the second a silver medal, in 1863 — "for a good knowledge of landscape painting" received the title of class artist. After the Academy he taught. Event in his creative life was the painting "the Ruins of the Koknese castle", for which F. has received from the Council of the St. Petersburg Academy of arts the title of class artist third degree.
