This work revisits the theme of returning home and rest. Home is an inner cosmos for a person, a cozy space for relaxation, a personal space. Crossing the threshold of his own home, a person merges with the surrounding space because it is his world, everything here reflects his personality and character. The house becomes a place where a person can relax and fully reveal his personality.
The painting depicts a man entering his own apartment from the contrasting space of the surrounding world into his own space. The man's costume is woven from space as well as the entire space of the room. This transition between the outer world and the inner space is filled with symbolism - the man returns to his natural state, where he can be himself, put his thoughts in order and be filled with inner peace. The cat meeting the hero on the threshold additionally strengthens the atmosphere of warmth, home comfort and understanding in communication with the surrounding world.
The general psychological aspect of the painting allows us to interpret "Return" as a symbolic action of inner realization and understanding of one's true path. In this context, the painting conveys the idea of peace, harmony and connection with oneself.
