Prophetic Buyan

Painting, XX century, 50×40 cm

Description of the artwork «Prophetic Buyan»

The description of the picture "Prophetic Desperado":

Buyan(or dupe) is of ancient character, which is mentioned in the lay. The brawler is old Russian singer and storyteller. Except that it most likely was a real person, in the Slavic faith, he became almost Pagan saints, and even God, patron of the arts and providesthe. This is not surprising. Every religion has its saints, after death, for whatever merits that elevate as miracle workers or people close to God. The same thing happened with a Heckler, who during his life wrote tales, music, and possessed the prophetic gift. In some places you can find that Buyan is the God of music, poetry and creativity in General, and the grandson of the pagan God Veles. Artist Dmitry Buyanov was very close to the theme of the origin of surnames and that a deep analysis of the myths and Russian epic, creative inspiration gave rise to this picture.About Prophetic allegorical Buyan mentioned A. S. Pushkin(the island of Buyan),as well as the great Russian artist Vasnetsov V. M in his film "the Accordion" 1910.
