Description of the artwork «Tale»

The story combines several of the main characters of Russian folk tales.The main motive-the struggle between Good and Evil.That is why the painting contains two opposite color schemes:on the left side(side of heart)-shows the day and on the right night.Water ,as a symbol of the elements,separates the two parts of the island.
The viewer may find here and Baba Yaga, and her terrible home-the hut on chicken legs, and a dragon flying out of their magical fortresses, Bun,fun, perched on a stump,and the gray wolf-frequenter of Russian folk tales. A roadside stone,which is usually placed near the fork in the road gives the traveler the future of its route,and on the stone slab,Raven sits and waits for prey slyly.
