Farewell, free element!
The last time for me
You roll on waves of blue
And Shine with the proud beauty.

As another plaintive murmur,
As a farewell call him in an hour
Your sad noise, your noise making
I heard the last time.

My soul desired the limit!
How often on your banks
I wandered the quiet and misty,
Cherished intent tormented!

I loved your reviews,
Deaf sounds of the deep voice
And silence,in the evening,
And wayward gusts!

Humble fisherfolk sail,
Thy fad stored,
Glides bravely in what distant deeps:
But you leaped, irresistible,
And the flock is sinking ships.

Failed forever to leave
For me, the still Breguet,
You enthusiasm to congratulate
And on the ridges of your guide
My poetic escape!

You waited, you called... I was bound;
In vain have torn my soul:
The mighty passion fascinated
The coast remained I...

What pity? Wherever now
I'm way careless stared?
One item in your wilderness
My soul would be struck.

One rock, tomb of glory...
There was immersed in cold sleep
Majestic memories:
There was fading Napoleon.

There he rested among the agony.
And after him, as the noise of the storm,
The other sped away from us genius
Another master of our thoughts.

Disappeared, mourned the freedom
Leaving the world his crown.
Make a noise, volnuysya bad weather:
He was, o sea, your singer.

Your image was on it signified,
It was created by your spirit:
Like you, possible, deep and gloomy,
Like you, nothing uncontrollable.

The world was empty... Now where do
I would you made, the ocean?
The fate of people everywhere is the same:
Where the good drop there guard
So the education or the tyrant.

Farewell, the sea! Will not forget
Your solemn beauty
And a long, long time to hear will
Your buzz in the evening.

In the forest, desert silent
Will take thee full,
Your rock, your bays,
And Shine, and shade, and the waves.
(Alexander Pushkin ,"To the sea",1824.)
