Biography and information

French painter, pupil of Leon Lhermitte. With the difference exhibited in the Salon of the National Society of fine arts (Paris) in 1889. In 1895, received a silver medal at the world fair of 1900, becoming a Knight of the Legion of honor and received other awards.
Organized a retrospective exhibition in the Salon of the National Society of fine arts in 1934.
In his work followed the precepts of their teachers, wrote canvases depicting the lives of ordinary people, mostly peasants.
But the style of David Neill freer than, for example, the manner of Leon Lhermitte. Him in some way influenced the contemporary art and the latest trends in painting. Suffice it to say that in 1898 he met and befriended Maurice Denis.
